The Lazy Adult Chore Chart That Actually Keeps Your Home Clean!
When my fiance and I moved in together, he assumed that just because I love to organize, that our house would always be clean. What he didn’t realize is how lazy I am. I mean, he knew it, but he hadn’t seen it first hand. My problem was that I didn’t want to be the only person cleaning all the time. I didn’t think it was fair that I had to clean the whole house and he got to sit around and do nothing. That’s when we began discussing a chore chart.
We needed something to keep us on track and that was going to hold us accountable for what we were supposed to be doing. I started searching on Pinterest all over the place for something, ANYTHING that I thought would work for us. I found little to nothing. Most things were asking for too much of us on a daily basis; I knew we wouldn’t do it. I knew we would quit. I knew there had to be a better way.
I knew I could make a better way.
That’s when our chore chart was born. It took me about a month to develop it. I made several lists and organized them several times trying to come up with the perfect combination.
About a month ago, we started using it.
I’m not going to lie, the first week was hard. We had a lot of catching up to do since we weren’t consistent before starting the chart. After the first 2 weeks, it was SO easy! We are able to get our chores done weekly and it doesn’t take too much time away from our week!
Here’s my secret to making the chore chart
work for any lazy couple:
You give yourself a week to do everything, and you’re not allowed to complain when your significant other doesn’t do their share UNTIL the week is over.
We display our weekly chore chart on our calendar in our command center. You can read more about our lazy couples command center here.
And after using it for a few weeks, let me know what you think about it! I’d love to know! I purposely made it a word document so that you can change it around however you want to work with your home! I’d love if you sent it back to me and showed me how you altered it!
