GUYS. OH MY GOD. GUYS.
I made my first money blogging last week.
When KOA started, I dreamed of making money doing something I loved. Something I could do from my couch. Something that I could see myself doing forever.
And it’s started.
Not to get into too much detail here, but this week, my fiancé received a very expensive bill in the mail unexpectedly. I was broken hearted when he told me we may have to put our basement renovation on the back burner because of it. I vowed that day to work my ass off this summer to start making decent money blogging. My goal has always been to cover our mortgage in blogging revenue.
Then I signed into my Amazon Affiliate Acoount… and saw I made $4 through Amazon Affiliates. And I freaked!
I know, it’s $4. Doesn’t even cover my boardbooster for the month.
I decided in celebration of making my first money from blogging, I was going to do a celebration post discussing my favorite affiliate marketing course:
Making sense of affiliate marketing is one of the biggest talked about courses I’ve seen since starting to blog. It was created by Michelle Schroeder, who makes HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of dollars A MONTH blogging. I’m not even joking, you can check out her monthly income reports here. From the beginning of my blogging career, I knew that I had little to no idea of how I exactly wanted to make money blogging, and when I learned about affiliate marketing, I knew this was the path for me.
Michelle’s course goes into all the details to maximize your blog to make it PRIME for affiliate sales. There are so many things in this course that would have taken me months to google or find on Pinterest out how to do them. If you really plan on jumping into affiliate marketing and really want to take blogging seriously, this course is for you.
I think it’s important to be upfront with the cost of this course however. The cost is $199. I know it’s not cheap. Especially when you’re not making money yet blogging.
- You get to join the official making sense of affiliate marketing Facebook group. These are all people who are as serious about blogging as you, it’s run by Michelle, and you know everyone in the group is willing to help.
- You get the course for life. I love that I can go back this summer and redo the course and brush up on my skills to make my blog better.
- Michelle has a TON of extras. My favorite is the Pinterest information provided by her friend Rosemarie Groner from The Busy Budgeter. It has really upped my Pinterest game.
- The time you save. Think about it, if you really want to learn the ins and outs of affiliate marketing, you’re going to have to do a TON of research to find everything that Michelle is providing in her course.
Here’s what put me over the edge on if I should buy the course or not:
I have decided that blogging is my official hobby.

Think about it, people who love golf go golfing multiple times a year. People who collect things spend THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS on a collectible that will collect dust for years. Blogging is my hobby.
My hobby just happens to (hopefully) make me money.
So if you’re on the fence on Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing or not, think about how much your hobby is worth to you. To me, it was worth the money for all of the time I have saved from the information Michelle gathered. I really think taking her course has moved my blog in the direction I want to go to. Again, I don’t have a goal of making $20,000 a month blogging (although I wouldn’t be mad if I did), but my goal is to pay for our mortgage so we can get ahead in life.
Thank you to Michelle who created this wonderful course, I owe you so much!!!!!
