Hey there… remember me?
I’ve been busy. SUPER busy.
As a teacher, the end of the school year is drawing near (THANK GOD), and I’m finishing up my semester for grad school. I’m currently not doing my 10 page paper that’s due Monday…
I know that as young adults, we like to feel like our lives are our own… you’ve moved out. Pay your own bills, do what you want. All that jazz.
Lately, I feel like I haven’t had that freedom.
Currently on my brain are the following things:
2. Grad School
3. Wedding #1 of the year (that I’m a bridesmaid for)
4. Wedding #2 of the year (6 days after that first one… for which my fiance is the best man)
5. Baby shower for my brother & sister in law
6. Job hunting
Among other things that I am currently blanking on. And I’m sorry that my blogging has gone by the waste side because of everything going on. I miss this dearly, and I’m hoping to get everything more down as I keep blogging so it feels more fun and less work as time goes on!
Sometimes I feel like this is the part of my life where I’m doing tons of things for other people or for my future self instead of for myself right now. I feel like I’m constantly being pulled different ways and it’s exhausting. I know I’m not alone in this considering I’ve talked to several of my friends who feel the exact same way. Every weekend its the same: showers, weddings, birthday parties, or work events. Or you’re in school or taking exams to try and further your career. Or applying for jobs to move up in your career. I’m SO over it and I know it’s not going to end anytime soon.
With all of the stress I am currently feeling in my life, let’s go over some ways I’ve been solving my stress related problems:
SOLUTIONS TO TIME/STRESS MANAGEMENT:
Sleep is my favorite hobby… as a lazy girl that shouldn’t be a shocker. When you’re overwhelmed and your brain won’t shut off sometimes you just need to lay down and take a nap for a while.
A good ole mindless TV show:
I love just watching a TV show where I don’t really have to pay attention too much, but it will still make me laugh and give me some relaxing down time. My favorites are Impractical Jokers, Parks & Rec., The Office, and Big Bang Theory.
Playing with my dog:
You all know my obsession with my LucyBear. Taking her for a walk or playing with her, or just watching her be silly or cuddling with her is just the best. She gives me unconditional love when I need it the most!
Ok I know that we all love to eat, but sometimes you just need to let yourself enjoy whatever you want and not worry about the calories. Just let yourself go… not forever… but for a little bit.
I know I just said to eat whatever you want, but then go to the gym and do something about it. My MOH and I have been going to the gym to prepare for my wedding and we are NOT exercise people. Grab a buddy and make a plan to go once or twice a week. At least it’s something! And it does really help you get your mind off things.
What do you do when you’re stressed? Have any suggestions for me? I need them (as you can tell)! Let me know in the comments or you can always email me at firstname.lastname@example.org!
